The knowledge that has got buried in the soils of ancient Indian past. Indian Knowledge Systems are the various systems developed in ancient India by eminent scholars to face life. This timeless knowledge today sits in those ancient texts upon which many have turned a blind eye. Vidya Vatika aims at bringing back that knowledge and applying it to the modern day. You will get to learn various topics from scholars working in this field for more than three decades. You can choose relevant topics by browsing them. We have tried to make choice easy by segregating subjects by professional background for those who are new to the topics. The courses are currently free of charge and open to anyone who is in search of finding a little extra edge to life.
We have two professors, who have been in the field of Indian Knowledge Systems and conducting courses at various locations all over India. People have gained lot of insight on the subjects from them and asked for more each time. They have made Vidya Vatika to spread awareness on their subjects globally.
Professor V. N. Jha
Prof. V. N. Jha is an eminent scholar and a specialist of various branches of Sanskrit learning.
All along his life he has been trying to promote Sanskrit studies through multi-disciplinary approaches in order to make such studies relevant to contemporary world and knowledge domains. He has visited several countries as visiting Professor and has delivered lectures. He created new disciplines of study in Sanskrit. He has contributed over 50 books and over 150 articles. 35 students received PhD degree under his supervision. He is member of a number of national and international academic bodies and institutions. He has been honored by several academic institutions (such as Mahamahopadhyaya by Hindi Sammelan Prayag; Vidyavachaspati by Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati; Pandita-Sarvabhauma by Moris Stella College, Vijayawada, Andhrapradesh,etc.) In the year 2012, he was conferred the degree of D.Lit. by the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi in the International Conference.
He has a long administrative experience of 20 years as the Director, Centre of Advanced Study in Sanskrit, University of Pune. He was also the founding Chairman of the Special Centre for Sanskrit Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He retired on 31st of July, 2006.
Professor Ujjwala Jha
She is currently a senior professor at the Centre of Advanced Study in Sanskrit, University of Pune. Has a teaching experience of 30+ years. She has completed a dual M.A. in Sanskrit & Pali as well as Indian Logic & Epistemology from Pune University. She completed her Ph.D from Pune University in the year 1986.
She has been associated with numerous universities and presented more than 100 research papers. She has 24 books to her credit and many of them are being popularly used by students worldwide.
She has been actively conducting a three level workshop in ‘Navya Nyaya Language and Methodology’ along with Prof V N Jha from the year 2000 in numerous locations all over India. She has also designed a similar workshop in Mimamsa Philosophy of Language which is one of its kind in the subject. These courses are increasing awareness in Indian Knowledge Systems day by day. She is highly appreciated for her skills in projecting the subject in simple diagrams that help students understand the subject easily.
